Company History

In early 1991, Horizon Business Services, a custom software company, was approached by local catering operations and asked to develop an event management program. Those end users helped design the original Caterease DOS program, and started a tradition that continues to this day - every upgrade to this powerful program is designed in cooperation with the end user, making a product that reflects the needs of the industry more than any other program on the market.

As the Caterease family of users grew, Horizon Business Services was determined to stay ahead of the technological curve by incorporating the power of the developing Windows environment into its popular DOS program. Caterease 5.5, released in early 1995, combined the program's trademark user-friendly design with the advantages of Windows 95, and quickly captured the attention of the hospitality industry.

As the new millenium dawned, Caterease once again took advantage of advances in technology to launch a revolution in event management software. The dynamic Caterease 6 was released in 2001, and completely changed the way event planners looked at software. Those who had not yet experienced the Caterease difference were delighted with it ease of use, its attractive design and its marriage of form and function. With customizable prints and customizable screen displays, Caterease made it possible to completely redesign a software program to fit the way that they did business, rather than the other way around.

As the years pass, we at Caterease will continue our commitment to offer the most powerful, most flexible and most affordable software in the event management industry.
